Cherish Wood Industries is proud to say that it is a family owned and operated business.

Chris Kubacki: Living on a small farm in Indiana, Chris Kubacki had dabbled in woodworking over the years. With the birth of a son, however, Chris found himself moving to a new house and building a custom built-in library using a borrowed radial-arm saw. Shortly after his son’s first birthday, Chris left his teaching position to be a full time Dad, and to tackle the never-ending list of household woodworking projects, including dozens of handmade Christmas gifts each year. As Chris’ skills and experience grew, friends began to commission him for custom furniture and furniture repair. When the time was right, it was a natural step for Chris to be the master woodworker in his own woodworking business.
Karin Kubacki: From early childhood Karin Kubacki enjoyed watching her father making furniture in his basement workshop. She dreamed of marrying someone like him who strived for excellence in woodworking. While she encouraged her husband to pursue his woodworking interest, she developed business skills working as a project manger for a large business consulting company. When her position was eliminated, it was time to transform her business sense and management experience into a new business.
